Information about The Burn Ban as it applies to us. The following is a brief explanation of the City of Austin Fire Marshal's conditions of the Jet Turbine Burn Ban permit that will be issued each year to the club. Conditions are quoted below. "1). Jet Flying will be allowed only when official Travis County Burn Ban is NOT in effect. If a Burn Ban is in effect flying will be PROHIBITED without a permit from the Austin Fire Department. 2). During a Travis County Burn Ban a Jet Event may be conducted ONLY if an official permit from the Austin Fire Department is obtained and if an engine company from the Manor FD ESD is standing by during the entire event." The bottom line is, they will issue a citation to anyone who flies a jet during a burn ban. It is now out of the hands of the club. A copy of the permit is posted in the Club house. |

PLEASE CLOSE AND LOCK ALL THE GATES WHEN YOU LEAVE THE RC FIELD. It is in our agreement with the City of Austin that the main gate to the park must be closed and locked when there is no one at the gun club and at our field. So, if you are the last person to leave the flying field, no matter what time of the day it is you must close and lock our gate. If while you are locking our gate and you see that the gun club's gate is locked you must also close and lock the main gate. Please, there are no exceptions!!!!!!!! |

Please Note; The City of Austin requires ARCA to have $1,000,000 of insurance. By each member having a valid AMA card when he/she flies at the field, ARCA complies with that requirement. When a member’s AMA card has expired and he/she continues to fly at the field ARCA does not meet that requirement. In order to help out our members who can’t always remember to bring a check with them for the new year when they go to the field to fly, we have always given the month of January as a grace period. But this grace period comes with one caveat, you must have a valid AMA card covering that grace period to fly. Please help us out by not flying in the new year until you have your new AMA card. |
